We are looking for a Tier 1 Technical Support Consultant. The successful applicant will be responsible for all aspects of daily technical support tasks, basic network and system setup, and administration including hardware and software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 24/7, on-/off-site technical support to Connectivity, Data Centre, and Web services clients
  • Provision, configure, test and install system and network devices for DSL, Cable, and other Connectivity services
  • Analyze, execute and document trouble resolutions, standard operating procedures, and lessons learned
  • Work on all aspects of client/server computing, database, data communications and internetworking, information systems, and technical programming related to sales, operations, product development, and project migrations

Compensation

  • $35,000 to $45,000 per year depending on qualification and experience

About You

  • 2-Year Computing & Information Technology Diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently, as well as work collaboratively with other team members
  • High level of interpersonal skills with both internal and external clients is a must
  • Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt and work well in a challenging and continuously changing environment
  • Up-to-date knowledge of internet-related standards and protocols is critical
  • In-depth knowledge of IP stack and IP routing / switching protocols
  • In-depth knowledge of firewall and VPN setup and configuration
  • Strong knowledge of, and exposure working with, all Microsoft Office applications and any other standard IT related software
  • Experience in cable installation work, PC operation system installation, and minor repairs to hardware are an asset
  • Experience working with Cisco Routers, Unix/Linux Servers, and VMware Virtual Servers are an asset
  • Experience working in a technical support call center is an asset
  • Knowledge of all company products and services is preferred
  • Valid BC driver's license
