Recently, in an ancient indian village, in a remote part of Mount Lehman, British Columbia, a totem pole was discovered that has raised serious questions about the origins of the llama family. At the top of the pole is a carved llama, indicating the importance of these animals to the original inhabitants of this area. Judging by the growth rings on this pole, its age is estimated as approximately 873 years.
To this day llamas can still be seen wandering through peaceful, treed pastures on Mount Lehman.
