Mac OSX mail configuration
  1. To configure mail for mac osx open up your mail program then click on mail and then on Preferences
  2. Then Click on Add account to create a new e-mail account
  3. Then fill in the information as follows:
    E-mail address: your new POP email address
    Example:
    For SmarttNet e-mail addresses johndoe@smartt.com
    For Bcinternet e-mail addresses johndoe@bcinternet.com
    For corporate e-mail addresses johndoe@yourdomain.com

    Full Name: your name as you wish for it to appear in the from field of your emails
    Host Name: For SmarttNet e-mails: mail.smartt.com; for Bcinternet e-mails: mail.bcinternet.com; for corporate e-mails: mail.yourdomain.com (for webmail)
    User Name: your username is the beginning of your e-mail address, so for example jonhdoe@smartt.com username would be johndoe. Unless otherwise stated by a SmarttNet customer service representative.
    Password: your selected password for your new e-mail account
    SMTP Server: If you use SmarttNet as your Internet Service Provider (ISP) as well then the SMTP Server is mail.smartt.com, if you use another ISP you must contact them and ask one of their customer service representatives for the correct SMTP Server name.
    If Use authentication when sending mail is checked please click on it to remove the X.

  4. Click OK to save the information and exit the mail preferences page.
