Fiber

Introduction to Fiber

If you need speed, you need Fiber.  Offering anywhere from 1Mbps – 100Mbps upload and download, Fiber is the fastest internet connection available.  It used to be a service that was reserved for large corporations, but nowadays with the internet being such a huge part of business, small and medium-sized businesses can also benefit from the speed and bandwidth that Fiber offers.

Two kinds of connections

With Fiber, there are two ways you can connect- using a dedicated line or a shared line.  A dedicated line means that your business will have its very own Fiber line running into the building that only you use.  This option allows you to be the sole user of the line without having to share your bandwidth with others.  A dedicated line is perfect for large businesses that need to have their own connection.

The second option is a shared line.  This is the best choice for small or medium-sized businesses that need the upload and download speeds of Fiber, but don’t want to pay for a dedicated line.  With a shared connection you still get the same speed and bandwidth, but since you share a line, you also share the cost.  If there are multiple businesses in your complex that need the upload and download speeds that Fiber has to offer, sharing a connection is the most economical way to achieve your goals.

How it works

Fiber is unique in that it’s the only internet connection that uses a Fiber line to connect.  Other connections use the existing copper telephone wires or your cable connections.  The problem with both of these is that the technology is old.  Fiber is based on the latest state-of-the-art technology and so it’s the fastest connection you can find.  Period.
