Windows Vista
- Click the Start button.
- Look on the right side for Control
Panel and click it.
- After the Control Panel window opens,
Click on Network and Internet
- Once Network and Internet opens, click
on "Connect to a network"
- After you've selected your dial up
connection, click "Connect" at the bottom of the
window.
- Type in your new number into the
box provided.
- Click "Connect".
- Click "Yes" on the
next window.
Windows XP
- Click the Start button to open
the Start Menu, slide up to Connect To.
- Click on the connection you use to
dialup to Dowco.
- In the field labeled Dial,
erase the existing number and type in the new number.
- Click the Dial button.
- Windows will ask you if you want to
make the change permanent. Click Yes.
Windows 2000
- Click the Start button to open
the Start Menu, slide up to Settings and left-click on Control
Panel.
- Double-click on the icon labeled Network
and Dial-Up Connections.
- Double-click on the icon for your
connection with Dowco.
- Left-click on the Properties
button.
- In the field labeled Telephone
Number, erase the existing number and type in the new number.
- Click OK and close the Dial-up
Networking window
Windows ME
- Click the Start button to open
the Start Menu, slide up to Settings and left-click on Dial-Up
Networking.
- Left-click once on the icon for your
connection with Dowco.
- Pull down the File menu and
click on Properties.
- In the field labeled Telephone
Number, erase the existing number and type in the new number.
- Click OK and close the Dial-up
Networking window.
Windows 95/98
- With your computer turned on and all
programs closed, double-click on the My Computer icon on your
desktop.
- Double-click on Dial-up Networking.
- Left-click once on the icon for your
connection with Dowco.
- Pull down the File menu and click on
Properties.
- In the field labeled Telephone
Number, erase the existing number and type in the new number.
- Click OK and close the Dial-up
Networking window.
MacOS X
- Click the Apple menu.
- Click the System Preferences.
- Click the Network icon in the
System Preferences.
- Select Internal Modem or External
Modem in the "Show" box.
- Select the PPP tab.
- In the field labeled Telephone
Number:, erase the existing number and type in the new number.
- Click the "Apply Now"
button.
MacOS 9.0 and Remote Access
- Open the Apple menu by click on
the Apple icon in the upper-left hand corner.
- Slide down to Control Panels
and select Remote Access.
- In the field labeled Number:,
erase the existing number and type in the new number.
- Close Remote Access and click Yes
when you are prompted to save the changes..
